I have been creating art since I was 13. I was one of the best artists in my high school. I received an art scholarship from the American Legion of Sealy. I graduated from the University of Houston with a Major in Psychology and Minor in Studio Art with a focus on Graphic Communications. My passions are art and psychology. I intended to double major in Psychology and Graphic Communications until the birth of my son. With the requirements for a Psychology degree already completed, I decided to stop there and devote the next few years to the development of my son. His early child development would be a test of my psychological knowledge and discipline. A Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology is still in my future. Until then, I will develop my artistic abilities in all forms. I dream of creating an extensive after school art program that will benefit all of our youth. The ability to think abstractly and critically is essential for each individual to reach their potential in our society. My experience with art has allowed me solve all of life's most challenging problems. It takes more than perseverance. There must be a solution. We must know how to create these solutions on our own. If you can see the world in many different ways, then the solutions become obvious. With the answers in hand, courage is not far behind to step up and solve the problem. With people like that running around, how far can we go?
